Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), IBM Cloud, and/or Microsoft Azure to develop, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructures supporting classified intelligence missions. The ideal candidate will design cloud architectures, optimize workloads, implement security controls, and support multi-cloud integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and maintain secure cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM, and/or Oracle Cloud to support classified IC operations.
Implement cloud security best practices aligned with NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, STIGs, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
Design and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, leveraging Jenkins, GitLab, or similar DevSecOps tools.
Optimize cloud environments for cost efficiency, high availability, and performance.
Configure identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and privileged access management (PAM) for cloud services.
Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure reliability and security.
Support multi-cloud and hybrid cloud integrations between classified and unclassified networks.
Deploy containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or AWS Fargate.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, data science, AI/ML, and software development teams to integrate cloud-native solutions.
Ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and federal cloud security policies.
Coordinate with multiple entities, including mission partners, to ensure tools meet defined requirements.
Apply DevOps principles and philosophies to continuously deliver high value enhancements to software in a service-based architecture.
Ensure all application security vulnerabilities are addressed as appropriate by severity to maintain security accreditation.
Support data engineering efforts to analyze large data sets to derive data relationships.
Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot various codebases deployed in a multi-cloud environment.
Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and networks.
Manage and mitigate IT security vulnerabilities and apply security controls.
Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (required, no exceptions).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, system architecture, or IT infrastructure within classified intelligence, DoD, or federal environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and/or IBM Cloud in a classified setting.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Experience with network security, firewalls, VPNs, VPC peering, and cross-domain solutions.
Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and automation frameworks.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DISA STIGs.
Expertise in Linux and Windows server administration in cloud environments.
Experience working with server-less architectures, Kubernetes, and micro-services.
Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide solutions in mission-critical environments.
Demonstrated experience monitoring system performance and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Demonstrated experience maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and managing software, hardware, and networks.
Demonstrated experience working within cloud computing environments, Linux, and Unix-based operating systems.
Demonstrated experience in platform and application automated deployment.
Demonstrated experience using AWS to include S3, EBS, and EC2.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
Experience supporting DoD, NSA, CIA, DIA, NGA, or other IC agencies.
Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, multi-cloud networking, and cross-cloud data management.
Experience integrating AI/ML workloads in cloud environments.
Demonstrated experience managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities using Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs).
Demonstrated experience applying FISMA security controls.
Demonstrated experience documenting and communicating technical and non-technical mission requirements for all audiences.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries.
Demonstrated experience implementing DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines to support a multi-tenant environment.
Demonstrated experience in cloud deployment, DevOps, containerization, web service and API management, and computing optimization.
Demonstrated experience using requirements tracking programs such as JIRA or Confluence.
Demonstrated experience in cloud database, storage, virtualization, and network configurations.
Demonstrated experience incorporating automated software quality checks, security scanning, infrastructure-as-code, and other modern DevSecOps tools and practices.
