Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Management Subject Matter Expert to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of advanced data systems for an Enterprise IT data platform. This role focuses on delivering a dynamic dashboard of differing systems and data feeds onto a single pane of glass that accurately reports and status mission IT systems, enabling knowledge and status of a multitude of systems to inform and report status.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and integrate cybersecurity solutions for classified and commercial systems.
Ensure compliance with NIST RMF (800-37, 800-53), ICD 503, DoD STIGs, and other security frameworks.
Work closely with system engineers, developers, and analysts to implement security best practices.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and system hardening to mitigate risks.
Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures for accreditation and compliance.
Support incident response activities, forensic investigations, and security monitoring efforts.
Evaluate, deploy, and manage cybersecurity tools such as SIEMs, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
Collaborate with government and commercial stakeholders to align security strategies with operational needs.
Automate security processes using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (required, no exceptions).
Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems integration, or information assurance.
Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and endpoint security.
Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture, PKI, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
Familiarity with Linux/Windows security hardening, logging, and forensic tools.
Understanding of SIEM solutions (Splunk, Elastic Stack, ArcSight, etc.) and log analysis.
Strong technical writing skills for documentation and compliance reporting.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
CISSP, CISM, CISA, CASP+, CEH, GSEC, or OSCP preferred.
Experience working with ICD 503 / Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation processes.
Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud security best practices (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, etc.).
Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and security tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and compliance within federal environments, including applicable requirements such as FDTA, HIPAA, and FISMA.
Demonstrated ability to architect and manage complex data pipelines, including the ingestion, storage, processing, and integration of large, multi-source datasets.
Experience integrating SNMP, server, storage, and network device feeds, as well as multi-cloud logs and other operational data sources.
Proficiency with SQL, cloud data warehouses and platforms such as AWS GovCloud, and data governance technologies.
Experience with high-volume data streams, ETL/ELT processes, and log aggregation platforms, including Splunk, Elastic, and Logstash.
Strong understanding of data quality management, including auditing, validation, cleansing, and maintaining accurate reporting assets.
Ability to establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and controls that support data security, integrity, accessibility, and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve data integration, quality, and pipeline issues.
Ability to collaborate effectively with systems engineers, data scientists, technical teams, and federal stakeholders to meet mission and project objectives.
Experience Levels:
Full Performance: 3+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Senior: 6+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Expert: 11+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Subject Matter Expert: 16+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Base Salary Range:
$165,000 - $228,000
