Position Overview:

IT Availability LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to support both cleared government and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analyzing complex datasets, developing advanced machine learning models, and delivering data-driven insights to support mission-critical decisions. This role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and offers opportunities to work on high-impact projects in a secure and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Insights:

    • Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover insights and trends.

    • Apply data visualization techniques to present complex information in an intuitive and actionable manner.

  • Model Development and Implementation:

    • Develop and implement machine learning models, statistical algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

    • Design and build data pipelines, ETL processes, and data workflows for large-scale data processing.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, analysts, and stakeholders, to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.

    • Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Data Integrity and Compliance:

    • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with government and industry regulations.

    • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, methodologies, and advancements in data science and AI.

  • Requirement Gathering:

    • Gather requirements to support full stack development for Sponsor data-driven internal web applications for high-impact Sponsor mission users.

  • Data Exploitation Models:

    • Assist mission users with developing and applying data exploitation models and devising creative data exploitation strategies.

    • Identify opportunities to integrate creative data exploitation strategies into existing workflows.

  • Technical Training:

    • Assist in providing technical training to Sponsor’s data users on custom tools and data exploitation consistent with established use cases.

    • Assist mission users to leverage the Sponsor’s custom tools and data in their daily workflows.

Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (required, no exceptions).

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and model development.

    • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or XGBoost.

    • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data mining, and predictive analytics.

    • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

    • Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

    • Demonstrated experience with strong briefing and writing (verbal and written) skills.

Highly Desired Skills and Demonstrated Experience:

  • Data Exploitation Efforts:

    • Demonstrated experience with leading data exploitation efforts leveraging Sponsor data and mission applications.

    • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor core business lines with in-depth knowledge of national intelligence Agencies.

    • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor created applications.

  • Multidisciplinary Team:

    • Demonstrated experience working on a multidisciplinary team of data professionals.

  • Sponsor Locations:

    • Demonstrated experience in Sponsor locations.

  • High Operational Tempo:

    • Demonstrated experience working in high operational tempo environments.

  • Classroom Instruction:

    • Demonstrated experience as a classroom instructor.

  • Industry Certifications:

    • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

    • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty

    • Google Professional Data Engineer

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate

    • SAS Certified Data Scientist

    • TensorFlow Developer Certificate

  • Technical Skills:

    • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning models.

    • Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas).

    • Understanding of database management systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Neo4j).

    • Familiarity with DevOps and MLOps practices for deploying and managing ML models in production.

Experience Levels:

  • Full Performance: 3+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.

  • Senior: 6+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.

  • Expert: 11+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.

  • Subject Matter Expert: 16+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
