Enabling AI Readiness

In today’s push to address and accelerate all things data into all things AI, there is really only one solution that will move the needle at a true speed of outcome for success. The data center is aging and does not maintain capabilities needed for the next generation of compute and storage. The cloud based on those data centers is only getting more expensive and does not provide flexibility, reliability, or readiness.

To be ready for AI, we must be able to scale, improve reliability, master speed and heat, and reduce dependency on power/space/cooling.

With the advent of immersion cooling from as far back as 100 years ago, we now know that there is only one way to address the issues we face in the race to AI. Immersion cooling provides power savings of over 40%, reduces water usage to zero, and extends the life and power of commodity equipment to aid in the AI Revolution. As well, it will be the sole solution capable of keeping GPUs cool at a factor of 10 density.

With immersion cooling, I can pack 168 petabytes of data storage into two conventionally sized racks, and I can get up to 200 kW of power into one conventional-sized rack. I can keep commodity hardware so cool that I can overclock the processor full time. As well, I can extend its life to up to six years without being in a dust-filled contaminated environment.

With immersion cooling, I can do all that and not use a drop of water! Imagine, just recently, Microsoft reported that they believe they used 9.9 billion gallons of water last year alone in their data centers.

The solution is clear that we can now avoid 70-foot-high data centers and redefine them with low-rise industrial park immersion centers, to benefit humanity, not use up their water. Immersion cooling is the only way for us to overtake our AI adversaries in this 21st-century race, and win we will.
