Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in Windows and Linux environments to support mission-critical intelligence operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, securing, and maintaining enterprise IT systems while ensuring compliance with IC cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux-based servers, desktops, and virtual environments.
Monitor system performance, security logs, and event alerts to ensure system health and compliance. Perform patch management, OS updates, and security hardening in accordance with DoD/IC policies.
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP for Windows environments.
Configure and troubleshoot Linux services (Apache, Nginx, SSH, LDAP, Samba, etc.).
Administer virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) for efficient resource management.
Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for mission-critical operations.
Work with cybersecurity teams to apply STIGs, RMF controls, and vulnerability remediation.
Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible) for system administration tasks.
Manage cloud and hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, and private cloud solutions.
Provide technical troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis for system issues. Document system configurations, processes, and security compliance measures.
Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (required, no exceptions).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and Windows security policies.
Proficiency in Linux system administration, Bash scripting, and configuration management.
Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, or Xen). Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, network security, and endpoint protection tools.
Understanding of DoD/IC cybersecurity frameworks, RMF, STIGs, and DISA compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills, documentation abilities, and ability to work in classified
environments.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
Experience supporting DoD, NSA, CIA, DIA, or other IC agencies.
Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, OpenStack).
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Certifications such as: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) CompTIA Security+ or CISSP (for security compliance) VMware Certified Professional (VCP) AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Linux+ or LPIC-1/LPIC-2
Experience Levels:
Full Performance: 3+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Senior: 6+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Expert: 11+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
Subject Matter Expert: 16+ years of experience plus a bachelor’s degree.
