Mr. Charles L. Dickens is the founder and managing director of the professional services firm, IT Availability. He is responsible for helping his clients with tailoring the delivery of innovative solutions for managing the risks in cyber security and IT operations, the implementation of new technologies and business strategies, and facilitating transformational changes in organizations that result in seamless integration.
Mr. Dickens served as a senior executive leader at a premier intelligence agency in Global IT Operations and has an accomplished record of 35 years of experience working across the Intelligence Community. Prior to founding IT Availability, he lived and worked in Africa, Asia, South/Central America, and conflict zones to deliver new capabilities in support of the mission. He has an exceptional reputation for leading strategic changes with measurable results. He is known in the Intelligence Community as a “closer” who mentors and inspires others around him.
Mr. Dickens is considered a creative leader with deep expertise in the areas of IT Operations, cyber risk management, strategic planning, and systems integration. He has a passion for helping his clients achieve their goals in these areas. He has an exceptional performance track record in leading high-performance teams and developing new leaders of the future.
Mr. Dickens earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Management with a minor in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has extensive training record of courses from MIT, University of Maryland, Harvard, and the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Although a Washington, D.C., native, Mr. Dickens grew up in Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom; he currently lives in Northern Virginia. He is married with one daughter and adopted nephew and also enjoys international travel and long-distance motorcycle touring with his wife.
